The Mirror of Stress
Which
Self-Induced Profile Are You? -Part-3
3. Mr. Pessimist
They worry about future
disasters—flight delays, presentation rejections—and live in perpetual anxiety
over things that haven't happened.
Dos:
1. Practice
best-case/worst-case/most-likely analysis.
2. Write worries in a notebook
for 10 minutes, then close it.
3. Focus on what you can
control (preparation).
4. Surround yourself with
optimistic people.
5. Celebrate small wins to
counter negative predictions.
Don’ts:
1. Don’t consume negative news
before important events.
2. Don’t use absolute words
like "always" or "disaster."
3. Don’t rehearse failure
scenarios repeatedly.
4. Don’t reject positive
feedback—acknowledge it.
5. Don’t make big decisions
when feeling pessimistic.
