Islands of Life- Island -4-Success

 An Interaction about Wisdom

The young man asked “Why did you write the death note? The elderly person said “I did meet failures; I was low and decided to conclude my life.

After writing the letter, I decided to live my life for few days on my own terms, I chose to be in isolation I picked up few books on self-development, downloaded some speeches and videos on life.

After spending my time on my own terms, I came across some inspiring words, people and their struggle in the books and videos I saw. That moment I decided to restart my life and buried my death note in the island where we anchored.

The young man asked “Can you tell me, one particular reason or a thought that changed your decision?”

The elderly person said “not one, there are many, I would like to sum up my thoughts in three lines”

1.   Failure and success are not destinations; they are just a part of the journey

2.   Success is time for celebration; failure is time for learning

3.   Let death come to you, you need go in search of it

In the mean-time the boat was nearing the island called -Success, the Young man, said “should we anchor in this island or should we proceed further, the elderly person “Let’s spend brief time to pick up some pearls called – humbleness.

They both tied the boat and started walking on the sea shore, where some waves swept their legs and some waves just moved back.

The elderly person, said success is like these waves they come and go.

If you want the waves of success to touch you more, you need go towards the sea.

The young man moved towards the sea and huge a wave took him deep, after some time he came fully drenched and looked at the elderly person smiling at him and he said “If you immerse deep into success you will be carried away by ego, if you realize, relate and imbibe this truth, you will attain wisdom.

I am handling my experience as pearls of wisdom:
  1. Wisdom-1-Mind is an island where learning is the pearl, we acquire
  2. Wisdom-2-Efforts is an island where results are the pearls, we acquire
  3. Wisdom-3-Failures is an island where mistakes are the pearls, we acquire
  4. Wisdom-4-Success is an island where humbleness is the peal, we acquire

The young man thanked the elderly person and said “which is the next island we need to anchor, the elderly person said “We will go back to the Island, called -Efforts

The elderly person concluded by telling “whether we fail or succeed we should keep putting our efforts, at one point of time, if our efforts doesn’t fetch results, we need to visit the called Mind to think what needs to be done

Keep sailing…. Life is a journey

Being Jaby is being a fine human being.   L&D Global Chennai Chapter was instrumental in bringing Jaby closer to my heart, our journey was not too long, but it was filled with fun, humour, joy and learning too. When Jaby was present, dullness was absent. He filled the hall with his sense of humour, and his thoughts were deep-rooted in bringing the best out of every human. Jaby was the most admired person in any forum; when Jaby picked the mic, the audience pulled themselves to the edge of the chair. Jaby was casual in his appearance, but he was a thorough professional everywhere. During COVID, if there was one person whom I counted on to help people, it was Jaby; his car was filled with masks, sanitizer and an oxygen concentrator. His social bent of mind made him a good Samaritan. Jaby was a curious child, whenever we both met, he was curious to improve his skills and knowledge, and his quest for development was limitless. Jaby and I collaborated in the year 2022 to d
