Monk, Disciple and the Balloon - Lesson -1

A Disciple was given a balloon by a Monk and he told him to blow the balloon and tie it.
The Monk asked the Disciple to press the balloon softly and asked "when you press the balloon, what will happen to the air inside?"
The Disciple said " It will circulate"
The Monk told him to press it once again and asked "what will happen now?"
The Disciple said "Air will keep circulating inside"
The Monk said " you are right, the air circulates and keep moving towards the other direction" similarly, the external world will pressurize you, but you need to keep going in the direction that you feel is right.
The Disciple asked "what will happen, if the pressure is more?"
The Monk asked "can you see the air inside the balloon"?
The Disciple said "no we can't see the air"
The Monk said " Since you can't see the air, similarly, the people can't see what is happening inside you" keep finding your ways and means to make yourself comfortable.
The Disciple asked "What will happen, if they prick the balloon"
The Monk smiled and replied, "they will Listen to unpleasant noise", from a colorful person.
Remember, "you can be soft like the balloon outside, but be firm like a rock inside"
To pressurize is their choice, to be pressurized or not is your choice

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
