Islands of Life- Island -3-Failure

 An Interaction about Wisdom

The young man and the elderly person reached an island that looked scary and it was not looking good for people to stay there for a while.
The young man with a worried face asked “What is the name of this island?” the elderly person replied it is an “Island of failure”

The young man asked “Why should we visit this island?” we could have gone to some other island

The elderly person replied “If we don’t visit this island, we will never understand the value of life” this is an island which is larger than the school and valuable than any book on success” There are many who avoid this island by either staying in comfort zone or surrender to a mundane life”
Those who have anchored in this island have picked up many pearls like self-introspection, realisation, power of change, understand people etc.
This island is full of learning and it serves abundant real time stories of mistakes, egos etc.
Once you reflect on your failure, realize your mistake and stop repeating it, you will attain wisdom.

Failure is nothing wrong, failing to fail is
The young man jumped from the boat and said “I would like to stay here for a while” The elderly person said “you can, but remember this is not the end of the journey”

The elderly person anchored the boat and started walking into the jungle and found a box which was buried under the tree on which there was a mark, he opened the box and smiled for a while.
The young man asked “what is this?” The elderly person took an old hand written paper and gave it to the young man, the young man started reading the paper and said “This looks like a death note”

The elderly person said “I wrote it before few years” and started walking back to the boat and the young man started following him
Let’s follow the elderly person to understand, what is the next sailing plan

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
