Stop glorifying the past and start living in the present

Stop glorifying the past and start living in the present.

Many so-called developed and developing nations often boast about their history and glory. However, the reality is that many countries in these categories are trapped in significant debt. If their past was so glorious, as they claim to be civilised and culturally rich, then why have they fallen into this debt? The reasons can vary, including invasions, population growth, and infrastructure development. We can learn from the past and adopt some good practices, but we should not become permanent citizens of the past, sedated by past glory.  Nevertheless, the more we glorify the past, the more horrific our present becomes and the darker our future looks.

Whether it's about life or a nation, we need to focus on how to progress rather than dwelling on the past glories. The world belongs to forward-thinking nations.

Let us not be carried away by the achievements of our ancestors or the past glory of our nations; instead, we should learn to accept the present and find ways to improve it.
