Respect
Recently, our school
students invited our teachers for lunch, and the hall was filled with love,
fun, and memories of those wonderful school days. We were delighted to have our
teachers, who taught us various subjects, come together in one place. We spent
time conversing with them about our current progress and reminiscing about our
memorable experiences in school. We laughed and cherished every moment with a
few of our classmates and students from other batches. The day ended
beautifully, leaving us with new memories to treasure.
As I was reading some
quotes on respect, I began to reflect on our teachers who happily agreed to
join us for lunch. These teachers did not drive luxurious cars, wear the most
extravagant watches, or adorn themselves with expensive jewellery. They
remained just as humble as they were in the past, even if they had gradually
improved their lifestyles over time. I wondered why some people are respected
based solely on the cars they drive or the suits they wear. Ironically, if
those material possessions were to disappear, so would the respect. One of the
greatest lessons I have learned from my teachers is that people are truly
respected from the heart for their deeds and the positive transformations they
create in others' lives, not for their own possessions.
Instead of seeking
respect through wealth and brand names, let us strive to be selfless, humble,
and make a difference in the lives of others. Just as we hold great respect for
our teachers in our hearts, we too can find a place in the hearts of others.
Remember, the cars
parked in the driveway depreciate over time, but the value we create for others
appreciates with time. Think about how you can enhance your quality of life to
be peaceful within and harmonious with others.
