Attitude
Towards Workplace Mistakes
Where there is freedom to make mistakes, there is freedom
to learn, experiment, and be creative. If mistakes are condemned, punished, or
not tolerated, the organization will suffer from a lack of creativity. There is
little point in nominating employees for creativity workshops or conducting
creativity activities unless the organization changes its attitude toward
mistakes. The most successful companies are built on the foundation of
mistakes, which fuel learning and encourage innovation.
Consider how you view the mistakes made by your subordinates. How often do you appreciate their efforts to try something new instead of criticising them for their errors? Reflecting on these questions can help you rethink your perspective on mistakes.
