Hard Work

Hard Work

There are days when it feels like our hard work has been in vain—moments when the results we hoped for slip through our fingers, leaving us questioning everything. This can happen at any stage of life and in any pursuit. But pause momentarily and ask yourself: Did my effort honestly go to waste? The answer is no.

Every ounce of effort you’ve poured has stretched you further than you ever imagined. Your skills have sharpened, your knowledge has deepened, and what once felt like a setback is a lesson etched into your growth. Some of life’s greatest teachings come the hard way, and those struggles are not losses—they’re investments in who you’re becoming.

If you’re wrestling with doubt today, brew a cup of coffee, grab a pen and paper, and write down how far you’ve come. List the strengths you’ve gained, the obstacles you’ve overcome, and the wisdom you’ve earned. You’ll see: hard work is never wasted. It’s the quiet force that builds resilience, fuels progress, and prepares you for what’s next.

Remember this: hard work beats waiting for "perfect" timing. Every second you invest in striving, learning, or pushing forward is a step toward the life you’re meant to live. So, keep going. The seeds you plant today may bloom in ways you can’t yet see—trust that they will.

Hard work is always better than no work.

Listen, Understand and Respond

Listen, Understand and Respond Most of the time, people listen to respond rather than to understand. By the time the other person finishes speaking, the listener is often already formulating a response. Let’s explore what happens in such situations. While listening, we may be trying to engage our logical brain to recall our memories and creativity for a response, or we may be accessing our emotional brain to defend ourselves against what is being said. For example, if one person talks about ways another could improve, the listener might offer excuses such as a lack of time, resources, or support. Alternatively, they may bring up personal emotions, like health or family issues. These reactions often occur while the other person is still speaking, leading to a decreased understanding and an increased eagerness to defend one’s position. During this type of conversation, the listener may appear restless, exhibiting a lack of eye contact or head nodding. In such interactions, th...
