Saying No
A straightforward
"no" is better than apologising for saying "no." When you
say "no," you are declining a request or task you are expected to
take on. It's important to remember that your reasons for declining may be
personal. If you apologise or plead while saying "no," it can make
you appear guilty and lead to regret for your decision.
If the other person continues to insist, be
firm in your stance; it's important not to entertain those who pressure you to
do what they want. From the beginning, communicating a clear "no"
sends the message that you don't work under pressure and operate on your own
terms.
