The Power of Present
No amount of freedom
from the outside world can be truly enjoyed if we are not free from our past
baggage. The world around us offers many things that can stimulate our
happiness and bring smiles to our faces, but if we become slaves to our
internal struggles, nothing will be visible to us. While we can seek the help
of others to break physical chains, only we can help ourselves break our mental
chains.
Set aside your
baggage for a moment. Observe a small ant, listen to the chirping birds, watch
a child smile unconditionally, or see elderly people sitting and laughing
together in a park, aware of their limited time. These moments remind us of the
power of living in the present.
