Smile
An old man walked in
the park daily, smiling and greeting everyone he encountered. He made a point
to stop and greet the children as well. One day, while sitting on a bench, a
friend asked him why he made it a habit to smile and greet others. The old man
replied with a smile, "It’s a form of exercise for my mouth and face. I
know that many people out there may have their struggles, but when I smile at
them, they tend to smile back and greet me. I feel happy knowing that I might
ease a moment of their pain. Above all, I never know if I will be here to smile
tomorrow.
I’m sure my smile
will be remembered even after I’m gone, and when people recall it, they will
remember my face, too."
