Bystanders, the silent killers
In
a world filled with bystanders, it is rare to witness people standing up for
justice and truth. In this new world order, individuals and entire nations act
as bystanders. In the name of punishing terrorists, one country has destroyed
another, not only through bombs, but also by cutting off access to food and
water. It is disheartening that many nations stood by as this criminal act
unfolded, while some seem to wait for their opportunity to do the same.
The
tragic deaths of innocent children, widespread starvation, water contamination,
and the suffering of women serve as evidence that we are governed by
individuals who lack the wisdom to lead. These leaders often claim to be chosen
by God. For centuries, thinkers, philosophers, and rationalists have raised
their voices against religions that have historically contributed to violence
and death. Yet, religion continues to be followed and promoted as a source of
peace.
Unless
we treat religion as a private matter and approach the world with an emphasis
on peace and humanity, we will continue to witness the devastation of missiles,
drones, bombs, and genocide.
