Commitment
We all make
commitments, but sometimes we fail to uphold them for various reasons. A person
who knows us well is likely to understand our situation; however, if the
individual is not close to us, this may lead to a loss of trust. If we
regularly fail to meet our commitments, we risk losing the confidence of those close
to us. If you anticipate being unable to fulfil a commitment, it's best to
communicate this in advance. This way, the other person can seek alternatives
or patiently wait for you.
While this topic may
seem basic, reflecting on your commitments and those of others reveals that
some relationships are strong because commitments are made and honoured. In
contrast, others may encounter difficulties due to the failure to keep
commitments.
It is always wiser to commit to what we can
realistically achieve rather than promising something we cannot deliver.
