Melting Life
Imagine a bowl of ice
cream topped with the finest ingredients like chocolates, nuts, and
strawberries. For some of us, this could be considered a meal. However,
there's an irony to ice cream: once it starts to melt, what was once a rich
bowl of delight quickly transforms into a puddle of fluid, with the toppings
sinking beneath the surface. Our initial excitement about enjoying that full
bowl diminishes, and we may even contemplate ordering another.
Life is like a bowl
of ice cream, constantly melting away with each passing moment. Some of us have
"toppings" such as wealth, education, talents, and strong
relationships. If we waste time regretting the past or worrying about the
future, our lives melt away—often faster than they should—due to
the internal heat generated by our stress and pain.
Instead of letting
life slip away, let us embrace each moment, no matter how fleeting, so we can
live happily and allow others to do the same. Remember, while we can always buy
a new bowl of ice cream, we cannot reclaim our lives.
