Grit
I recently listened to a speech about how some businesses are built and the hardships they face along the way. One significant insight I gained from these stories is that it's not just strategies or creativity that make a difference: it's the founders' grit. Although it's a simple four-letter word, grit is a powerful quality that differentiates successful people from those who are not. Whether it's a student who passes an entrance exam, an athlete who fails but bounces back, or an entrepreneur who endures rejections and failures, these individuals all share one common trait: grit.
Now, let’s reflect on
the projects we’ve discontinued—the treadmill that now serves as a clothes
rack, the jogging shoes that spend more time in pubs than on jogging tracks,
and the healthy food options that are closer to their expiration dates than to
being consumed. All these items are neglected due to a lack of grit.
Think about something
you started but discontinued. Consider picking it up again and working slowly,
like a snail. Remember, it's not the speed that matters; the consistency truly
counts.
