Life Lessons from Ploughing
Ploughing in farming
is primarily done to prepare the soil for planting crops. It involves loosening
and turning the soil, which helps improve aeration, water retention, and root
penetration. Ploughing also aids in burying crop residues and weeds, enhancing
soil fertility and reducing competition from unwanted plants.
Now, let’s relate
ploughing to life. Ploughing can be compared to preparing the mind, as our
thoughts are the foundation for growth and development. Loosening the soil is
akin to allowing the mind to flow, whether through good or bad thoughts. This
process helps empty the mind and make room for new ideas while retaining
positive thoughts. Once positive thoughts are established, they can strengthen
our minds and help us remain rooted in positivity. Just as ploughing helps bury
crop residues and weeds, maintaining a healthy mind allows us to bury unwanted
worries, fears, guilt, and regrets.
A tireless farmer
prepares the soil for the next crop to ensure a good yield. Similarly, we need
to regularly 'plough' our minds to weed out negativity and sow positivity.
