Leadership Lessons from Walkers-Part-1
We all would have come across walkers who walk either
in the morning or in the evening, or some of us are also in the same League.
There are some good qualities these walkers possess, which can be used in
developing our Leadership qualities. These are those qualities:
Initiators – Waking up others : There are few who walk alone,
but we can see majority of them walking with their friends, neighbours, etc. in
these group we can always come across one person who is an early riser who
plays a vital role in waking up others, in today’s modern world some of these
walkers do have a Whats App group, where the early riser will be the first to
wish & wake up the rest of the members.
A good leader is always concerned about people’s
welfare and he/she will be first to inspire others to start it. In the
workplace the Leader should be first person to take initiatives, when it comes
activities like Health check-up, fitness activities, Diet lessons, etc. and
he/she should also ensure his/her team participates in such exercises. These kinds of initiatives will result in
having a healthy and a motivated team.
Companion- Walking with others: Some walkers might be fast,
some might be slow, there are some walkers in the group who can cope up with
any kind of walkers. There might be days when a slow walker might not have
his/her regular companion, but in such case one of the walking members will
volunteer and start walking with the slow walker. The Lesson what we can take
from this person is, a good Leader will be a good companion, he/she knows how
to work based on the type of the subordinate he/she is leading.
